The Master Of Suspense Presents A 3000-Mile Chase Across America!

Cary Grant teams with Hitchcock for the fourth and final time in this superlative espionage caper judged one of the American Film Institute's Top 100 American Films and spruced up with a new digital transfer and remixed Dolby Surround Stereo.

Grant plays a Manhattan advertising executive plunged into a realm of spy (James Mason) and counterspy (Eva Marie Saint) and variously abducted, framed for murder, chased and, in another signature set piece, crop-dusted. He also holds on for dear life from that famed carved rock (for which back lot sets were used). But don't expect the Master Of Suspense to leave star or audience hanging.

North by Northwest was nominated for three Academy Awards for Film Editing (George Tomasini), Art Direction (William A. Horning, Robert F. Boyle, Merrill Pye, Henry Grace, Frank McKelvy), and Original Screenplay (Ernest Lehman).

Ik heb zowel de dvd als de blu ray uitvoering. De film is destijds in VistaVision geschoten. Deze widescreen variant op de 35 mm film stond bekend om zijn zeer fijne korrel wat een hoge resolutie opleverde.
Ideaal dus voor het overzetten op blu-ray formaat.

Een aanrader voor alle Hitchcock fans!

Dit is echt een perfecte Blu Ray release! Alhoewel de film al redelijk oud is is zowel beeld en geluid van schitterende kwaliteit. Alsof Hitchcock dit meesterwerk net voltooid heeft. Het is absoluut een grote vooruitgang ten opzichte van de DVD-versie en dat kan helaas niet van alle klassiekers gezegd worden!

Schitterende film die ik al tientallen keren heb gezien en die gewoon nooit gaat vervelen. AANRADER van de eerste orde!!!!
